The Glass of Venus (by Titania)

This would be one of my favourite spells. I still haven't found anybody to try it out with, but I'm sure that it will be wonderful for every loving couple.

A mirror has a powerful connection with Venus and her handmaiden, as does the shell from which she was born. Honour these two potent symbols of love, and she will honour your union.

You will need:

• A small piece of mirror glass, cut to a size that will sit happily somewhere in your bedroom

• A strong frame for the mirror

• Shells of many sizes

• Gold  Paint (if desired)

This is a work of magic which may, realistically, take many months to unfold. The symbology is beautiful, and the resulting glass will be a constant reminder of the reflection of your love for one another.

Begin by having the mirror framed (you can buy one framed if you find one you truly like), then set aside a table or work area for the long process ahead. Together with your partner, if possible, work the shell's around the mirror's framed edge, gluing them in place as artistically as possible. Combine sizes and shapes; work together on one patch, or start from opposite corners. Sing or talk sweetly to one another while you work; play music you both enjoy. Employ the consciousness precipitates by the candles of your colour choice. Work little and long rather then in haste; and never quarrel in front of the mirror. Remember, this is a very special piece you are working on, and should reflect the best of your love for each other.

When you have finished setting all the shells in their place, you may wish to gild the edges with gold paint or leave them natural to suit your taste. The resulting glass will be beautiful and should hang or stand in your bedroom.
